We came home Christmas Eve night and went out to the barn to put the Sheep away. We heard something coming from the other side of the barn. There had been a ewe who was having some "health issues" so she was in a separate section of the barn. We walked around the barn to see if our suspicions were right and saw these two beautiful lambs. The mom and babies seem to be doing fine. We were not expecting any lambs until February so we are not real prepared. Luckily they kind of do a lot of the work themselves. Hopefully they will not need any intervention! If so we have a few good resources we can tap into(neighbors, friends,vets,etc.)_Merry Christmas! Ashlee will wake up on Christmas morning to a surprise even to us and Santa!

more pics of Sage and Ashlee
We made some sauerkraut last weekend and it is fermenting right now, that is what all the mess and jars are of. It has been a Halder family tradition forever so we bought a cabbage shredder this year and are keeping the tradition alive! It is one of our favorites. I also learned how to make soap! I friend of ours took a class and brought all her stuff to the farm and taught me how to make soap. We made a Milk and Honey batch using milk from the sheep and unpasteurized honey from my uncles bees. We added no fragrance so they smell like graham crackers ( probably from the honey ). They are sitting downstairs right now to cure for a few weeks so we will see how they turn out in a few weeks. I will try to post a pic of that too! Ash is enjoying his sister and I am learning valuable lessons on patience with two! And valuable lessons in "not getting anything done". We are all doing good though.

Sage has arrived!
Sage has some wild hair!
Daddy and Ash cooking up some pumpkin for homebrew.
the picture below is of Ashlee and the ones above are of Sage.
So, Sage Jarret Halder arrived October 31, 2010 at 9:20pm. She came into this world weighing 8lb even and she was 21 inches long. Labor was fast and we were able to have a natural delivery again. She looks very similar to Ashlee when he was first born, but she has a little bit more hair and it is a little darker. We will see what happens when she grows into it. I put a pic of Ash next to the pic of Sage. See the similarities. Sage is a great sleeper, great pooper and a great eater. She loves her brother and Daddy always kisses her cheeks and makes her cranky with his beard I imagine. She loves it though.

Another Two Months Without a Post. SHAME!
I couldn't believe it has been so long since I have posted. I sincerely did not think it had been over 2 months. Time is just flying by. But Ashlee is going to be 2 1/2 at the end of this month so I thought a few pics were in order. We went to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo for July 4th with Nana and Papa and Missy(who he adores), and here are some pics from that and other recent events. Enjoy!

So, i know it has been over 3 months now since I last posted and I'm sure most of you are bored of checking my blog because it never changes. Sorry! Here we are with some new pics finally and an announcement of a new baby! Due date OCTOBER 31 - we are definitely expecting a little monster! I have not scanned the ultra sound pics but I have intentions to do so, but we all know how that goes don't we.
